Vivian Reddy Living Legend 2011 Honoured on His 64th Birthday

 

 
Durban businessman and philanthropist, Vivian Reddy, was honoured by Childline KZN in celebration of his 64th birthday.
Childline KZN presented Vivian Reddy with a personalised framed collage highlighting the projects that had been successfully undertaken through his contributions.
Vivian Reddy is Childline KZN’s primary donor and his donations have contributed significantly towards managing the organisation’s Crisis line, which receives more than 20 000 calls each month.
He is an eThekwini Living Legend of 2011.

PJ Powers Living legend 2009

 

South African singer PJ Powers performed at the Zimbabwe National Parks and Wildlife Authority headquarters in Harare on 28 July. Titled Green Concert, the event was held under the theme Invisible Champions and was an environmental awareness campaign through music, dance and song.

Veteran runner and familiar Comrades Marathon presence, Blanche Moila, has spoken out against the #MenAreTrash social media movement, saying there are good men out there – but they must stand up and fight the scourge of women abuse.
Blanche Moila, who was the first African female runner to be awarded Springbok colours in 1984, geared up for her 12th Comrades Marathon. She is an eThekwini Living Legend 2010.

Celebrated businessman, Vivian Reddy along with his Edison Brand have been awarded with two prestigious accolades in August 2017.
Edison Corporation Group Executive Chairman, Vivian Reddy received the 2017 Standard Bank KZN Top Business Award for Business Personality of the year.

Sizwe Nxasana Living Legend 2013

 

In celebration of the Future Nation Schools first book fair, Founder of Future Nation Schools and chairperson of NSFAS and the National Education Collaboration trust, Sizwe Nxasana donated more than 25,000 books worth more than R12.5m to Walter Sisulu University.

In addition to the donation, Future Nation Schools also donated a total of R220,000 towards bursaries and the purchase of books to five schools in Alexandra township who are part of the Vincent Tshabalala Education Trust.

Willowton Group Living Legends 2014

 
Seven students from the University of KwaZulu-Natal breathed a great sigh of relief in April after receiving bursaries from Willowton Group to pay for their studies.

Speaking at the official handover of the first cheque of R1 000 000, Willowton Group executive director, Abdul Razak Moosa said that the bursary fund will assist students at UKZN, the Durban University of Technology and the Cape Peninsula University of Technology.

Highway Hospice on Mandela Day

Highway Hospice was geared up for Mandela Day in July and asked bakers to spend their 67 minutes making biscuits for resale, at the Sherwood Hospice. People baked biscuits and put them into jars but also brought them in bulk. Highway Hospice event organiser, Heather Partner, said on the day, there was live music to entertain people while they enjoyed the delicious food on sale. Highway Hospice are Living Legends 2014.
