eThekwini Living Legend Jay Pather has recently curated the annual celebration of live art, designed to challenge and extend the audienceʼs experience in a non-commercial environment and has offered a platform to both visual and performing artists for the past six years.

This festival was presented on four platforms, the first of which, Trajectories, which focused on the development of live art and comprised of productions from different lineages.

The University of Cape Town’s (UCT) Institute for Creative Arts (ICA) promised that its ICA Live Art Festival 2018, which ran from 1 to 16 September, explored new forms, breaking boundaries, flout aesthetic conventions, tackled controversies, confronted audiences and experimented with perceptions.
