Blanche Moila, a psychiatric nurse by profession, was born 31 January 1957 in Pietersburg. Her love for running began in Durban. Did you know that, Blanche Moila was the first black female runner to be awarded Springbok colours and has represented South Africa internationally?

Recently at the annual Gogolympics event, as a Hillcrest AIDS Centre Trust’s (HACT) Comrades Marathon ambassador, Blanche Moila, spoke and encouraged the gogos to keep active and lead a healthy lifestyle for the sake of themselves and their grandchildren.

More than 1 000 gogos from across the Valley of 1000 Hills competed in the all-day, sporting spectacular which was held in partnership with the Molweni Community, the eThekwini Municipality, the KZN Department of Sports and Recreation and the Department of Health.
