The KZN Blind and Deaf Society was one of the eThekwini Living Legends 2016. They recently hosted a breakfast event to launch their inaugural ‘Eye Can Walk’ campaign to the media and other VIP guests.

This walk starts at Berea Rovers, and the participants will proceed towards Blue Lagoon via the beachfront, finally returning to Rovers. During the 5km event, the participants will be encouraged to walk in pairs, with one person being partially blindfolded and led by the other person, with a reversal of roles half way into the walk.

Justice Zak Yacoob, president of The KZN Blind and Deaf Society, welcomed guests and explained what the society has to offer its blind and deaf clients, and went on to explain why there is a need to raise awareness among the sighted community.
